BloomingPairs ("we," "our," or "us") operates the BloomingPairs mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. Please read this policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Personal Information You Provide

• Account information: name, email address, profile photo (optional)
• Relationship details: partner name, anniversary date, relationship status, living arrangement
• In-app content: answers to questions, game responses, shared moments, letters, and notes stored in Bond Vault
• Communications: messages you send to us for support or feedback

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device information: device model, operating system, unique device identifiers
• Usage data: features accessed, time spent in the app, interaction patterns
• Log data: IP address, app crash reports, performance data
• Push notification tokens (if notifications are enabled)

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, or location unless explicitly required by a feature and with your consent
• We do not collect financial or payment information directly — all payments are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Enable real-time syncing of data between you and your partner
• Provide, maintain, and improve App features and functionality
• Personalize your experience (e.g., curated questions, activity suggestions)
• Send you important updates, security alerts, and support messages
• Analyze usage trends to improve the App experience
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

• With your partner: Only the content you choose to share through the App's features (answers, shared notes, etc.) is visible to your connected partner
• Service providers: We use trusted third-party services that process data on our behalf (see Section 7)
• Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, or legal process
• Safety: To protect the rights, property, or safety of BloomingPairs, our users, or the public

4. Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously and implement industry-standard measures:

• All data is transmitted using HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Sensitive data (e.g., intimate preferences, private letters) is encrypted at rest
• Access to your account data is restricted to you and your connected partner only
• Our backend infrastructure is hosted on Supabase (SOC 2 Type II certified)
• We conduct regular security reviews and vulnerability assessments
• Authentication tokens are securely stored using platform-native secure storage

While no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information.

5. Data Retention

• Your account data is retained for as long as your account remains active
• If you delete your account, all associated personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days
• Anonymous, aggregated usage statistics may be retained for analytical purposes
• Backup copies may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before automatic deletion

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: You can view and access all your data within the App at any time
• Portability: You can request a copy of your data in a portable, machine-readable format
• Correction: You can update or correct your personal information in the App settings
• Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the App or by contacting us
• Opt-out: You can opt out of push notifications via your device settings
• Withdraw consent: You may withdraw consent for data processing at any time by deleting your account

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), you also have rights under GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. For California residents, you have rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to request deletion.

7. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate and improve the App:

• Supabase — Database hosting, authentication, and real-time data sync (Privacy Policy)
• Expo / EAS — App build, deployment, and over-the-air updates (Privacy Policy)
• Apple App Store — App distribution for iOS (Privacy Policy)
• Google Play Store — App distribution for Android (Privacy Policy)

These services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.

8. Children's Privacy

BloomingPairs is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that a child under the applicable minimum age has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete such data. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us immediately at privacy@bloomingpairs.com.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and maintained on servers located outside your country of residence. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App and updating the "Last Updated" date. For significant changes, we will provide a prominent notice via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
